BOOooooo! We captured Ghost's at our house!

These are the spooks at our house. My friend Sharea's son Kodiak helped me put the pumpkin out in the yard. Little Kodiak is three, he thought the pumpkin was going to pop so he didn't get too close. But the minute his mom came to pick him up he made her close her eyes for a surprise! (I can't believe I didn't get his picture) Just two years ago little Kylie helped me. She had to go outside and watch the ghost's all day. Then at night she wondered if they would be going to sleep! This year I sent her a picture of the pumpkin and she said, "I wish I could play in that!" I wish the girls could play in it too! Halloween isn't the same without them! Cant' wait to see pictures of the "2 little Witches"

Thankful Thursday!....Learning to be still!

Update: As of Oct. 3oth Clark has found out he has more---issues. Please keep him in your prayers. ANOTHER MILESTONE FOR CLARK-- HE IS NOW 'OFF' ANTIBIOTICS WOO-HOO AFTER 11 WEEKS! Thankful this week for "Learning to be STILL" Clark took the heavy duty (pee) test last week. We waited and waited and waited for the results. When not hearing anything before the weekend we decided to just be STILL about the worrying. So in being STILL we enjoyed a nice Saturday fishing, a quiet Sunday. Concentrating on whatever normal feels like. In church we learned again to maintain HOPE no matter what is going on in our lives. So in being STILL we listened to that 'still small voice' telling us to remain optimistic. We received the results from the test. Although not good, it isn't the worst news. His protein count was 1566(normal is 150) apparently really bad is above 5000. We are going to see a kidney specialist in two weeks so in the mean time we are being STILL and enjoying TODAY... BESIDES HE HAS KICKED THE BOOT AND HIS TOE IS HEALING WONDERFUL! One thing that I have reflected on his how upset I get with the 'UNKNOWN' I hope to learn to be still more often. I'll work on it. In the mean time I am always thankful that when bad things do happen we are blessed to be able to handle it. So often we are blessed that what could happen hasn't. And maybe my bits of pessimism sometimes helps me be prepared for what ever comes??? Any way we recognize that come what may, God is always there. "BE STILL AND KNOW THAT I AM" --he remains by our side if we seek him.

Bury or Cremate?

We are planning a burial service for the BIG UGLY BOOT, but then we have decided that cremation is more appropriate. After 9 weeks of the big awkward thing. Clark is worried he will have a permanent limp. It's been hilarious! BACK TO THE WORK BOOTS... WE ARE CELEBRATING!

All in a Day!

Taking advantage of the beautiful weather. Clarks first time fishing since June. The perfect cast! My idea of a great fishing day! First and Only Catch of the Day! A Turtle Snake in the tree. find the snake that slithered by Clark and climbed in the tree next to where we were fishing We stopped to see a dead snake in the road. It had 8 rattles on it. Just so happens to be the same type of snake I was obsessed with taking pictures of while fishing. YIKES... You can barely see two doe in the field. This made Clark very homesick for "Utah's Opening Deer Season" Old Wood Water Tank in Beaumont, KS on the way to "Wind Mill City" Miles and Miles Wind Mills A perfect sunset. A perfect day.

Halloween Cookies with the Westons

The Weston kids came over on Friday while there Mom spent the day at the Temple. They just moved to our Branch from Denver. We had COOKIE FUN! This is Paige, she was the little dish washer. This is Jeremy, he got in on the cookie cutting and the flour fight but he mostly liked playing legos. This is Kaylee, she loved mixing the cookies. Her favorite thing was watching "American Tail" This is Hannah, She stuck to it and we frosted all 60?? cookies (I didn't get any pictures of the finished cookies.) The kids were happy to take a lot of the cookies home.

Thankful Thursday! for our heater/airconditioner

This morning as I was laying in bed I was thinking I am so thankful for my heater. Three hours later I was thinking " Oh, I am SOOOOO thankful for my air conditioner! As I am writing this we have flipped the switch to the fireplace... Just the time of year when the weather isn't quite winter but can also seem like summer! I'm not complaining. I love the sunshine and the chilly evenings. We live in a beautiful world. I hope my perspective is the same tomorrow. I'm praying to keep our perspective amid life's crisis(s)!

Don't STOP for even a breath because there is just too much to do. Some day's it just feels like I'm RUNNING, RUNNING, RUNNING... Not a minute in between. These kind of day's remind me of back in the time when the kids were all home. I especially miss having my kids around. They could either RUN for me or RUN with me or be the reason I'm RUNNING.......Definitely a time in my life I MISS! It would be so awesome to RUN to a football game, or RUN to ballet lessons? Now I would just love to RUN over to see them. RUN for them, or RUN with them, or RUN after them!!! A good reason to be RUNNING! MISS YOU KIDS AND LOVE YOU SOOOOOOO MUCH!

Thankful Tuesday...For Roses and Rain

This morning Clark and I received roses from Elaine (a single mom) To thank us for our hospitality to her son Todd. Elaine has courageously raised 4 children alone. Todd is the baby. He is a senior in high school. He often comes to our home after school because he hates being alone. He knows he can help himself to the fridge. He often comes by to watch football games and has slept over occasionally (because he has to be here for early morning seminary). He has to be lonely to hang out with us oldies! I am also thankful for rain although I would rather it be SNOW! Still love the rainy days when I can be tucked in by Mr. Clark before he leaves for work and be all cozy with a good book! Clark is thankful it's a cold rainy day(hot homemade bread day!)I would be living my DREAM if our kids and relatives were near us!

Message of HOPE!

The great message today in the LDS Conference was of HOPE. 2nd Counselor in the L.D.S. Presidency is President Dieter F. Uchdorf gave this INCREDIBLE message today. No Matter what happens in life there is HOPE. If you have HOPE you can also have FAITH and CHARITY. To watch and listen to his message visit lds.org , General Conference -Morning Session click on President Uchdorf. I am so happy for the message of HOPE the gospel provides. Especially the knowledge that Through the Atonement of Jesus Christ, he allows us comfort and assistance in our suffering and HOPE when life's challenges come our way. He can take away our burdens and sins and 'everyone' qualifies. "NO ONE IS LEFT ALONE" I LOVE CONFERENCE! IT ALLOWS ME TO BE REMINDED THAT ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE THROUGH THE LOVE AND ATONEMENT OF JESUS CHRIST.

Thankful Thursday! for MUDDLING

I am thankful that I have a time in my life that if I haven't got it all together I can muddle through for a bit. Muddling just means I'm pausing! Pausing is just stopping progress to take a breath! To enjoy the simple things. Papers on the porch, Sunshine, Cooler Weather, Cuddling, a Good Book, Soup Day's, Naps in the afternoon (what a life), Football, Candy Corn. Chatting with friends on the phone. Muddling is especially enjoyed most after a stressful time or before schedules get crazy. The good in muddling is that it gets boring and then we appreciate the business of life. Like anything else there must be moderation in muddling.... I'll muddle just a titch longer!

Woah it's Wednesday! PANIC....

Every Wednesday, I wake up in a panic...Is the garbage out??? And then usually because we don't have trash cans in El Dorado (and you are only allowed 2 black bags of garbage and then recyclable bags) We can't put it out on the street at night. The dogs tear it up, so I usually am running outside---as a bedhead....and usually in my flannels!...To get the garbage out. It's just routine! So here is the funny that happened this morning. The alarm clock routine at our house is...It usually goes off at 5:45 and I continually hit the snooze button until 6:20 so if Clark is not up before 6:20 it usually sparks a panic. This morning I smacked the snooze at the usual every 10 minutes as I ANNOUNCED OUT LOUD the time. "It's 5:55,it's 6:09" Then when 6:20 came and I panicked and reached across to nudge Mr.Clark only to realize HE'S GONE...and has been since 4:30am(he got called out) HEEE---HEEE That just goes to show you I can sleep through when he leaves and smack the alarm and talk in my sleep!
