BIG BIRTHDAY SHOUT TO MY SON TYREL

Tyrel at Ground Zero
A landmark in New York
Statue of Liberty and Tyrel with Mayor Gulioni s/p? Can't forget the special meeting with Tom Brokaw at the CBS STATION in NEW YORK!! That 's a pretty unique meeting too. Or the special attempt Tyrel made to meet 'REGIS' ( my only request while he was in NY!)
We wish Tyrel the BIGGEST BIRTHDAY EVER! Right now he is celebrating his 4th year Anniversary and 27th B-day on a cruise to Canada.
So here is an attempt to tell you all about Tyrel. Hmmm... maybe to explain the fun he is I can tell you in three words (oops, many words!)EARL, THE SIMPSON'S and JIM CAREY, JEFF FOXWORTHY
When he was 4-5-and 6, 7-8- and 9 it was JOHN WAYNE. He could mimic John's voice. He used to say to me, "HEY LITTLE LADY, I'LL TAKE YOUR W-A-G-O-N" And it never stopped. For me as a MOM he has always been one who can make you smile and laugh with his sense of humor. He has adopted many MOM'S and treats the women in his life like they are the most important people. With his ability to be such a loving kid, it seems he is just a BIG TEDDY BEAR! I love that both of my boys let me just kiss their cheeks off!!!
Tyrel has had an adventures life. GOOD FRIENDS and is an EXTREMELY HARD WORKER! We had a lot of fun times. His friends all made a rock band, it was alot of fun hearing Tyrel harmonize and head bang! He played football both in Jr. High and High, Playing on the Varsity team ( a lot of good family bonding!). Including the head shaving on the last game as a senior. He was the Drum Major in the Band and entertained the band while on the football field by shaking his boote'. He has survived a few miraculous moments. For that reason and more Tyrel is a special kid.
He served in the NEW YORK, NEW YORK, NORTH MISSION. As you can see from these few (sideways pictures) He had the best mission ever.
He is a great teacher/leader. And is Faithful in his beliefs.
He is also known as the CHICKEN MAN working at KFC since he was 16. We'll never forget, "HOMIE ON A PLATE"!!!!! Family Secret! He has received many awards including Top Ten store in the country TWICE. All due to his extreme dedication and hard work.
He met the girl of his dreams, and Danielle has just become a perfect member of our family. They were married in 2005. Tyrel is a great supporter and a loving husband.
We are so proud of Tyrel, for the man he has become. For the support his gives to Clark's Dad and the close relationship we have with him.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TYREL, WE LOVE YOU!

THANKFUL THURSDAY!

TRYING TO SEE THE BEAUTY IN THE WORLD! So today, gearing up to go walk, I have had a bit of the ??? flu, blues, cold coming on??? My morning routine brings me to check out the morning bloggers and latest updates. Thankful that when I can't see the sunshine, that others just brighten my day! Thankful for a DVR that records my favorite shows and I am able to finish each night and start each day studying the scriptures with the help of KBYU. Love Professor Andrew Skinner, and some Professors that were old seminary teachers, (Sad that I didn't participate like I should have as a seminary student in my younger years!) and Professor Ray Huntington who lived in Orangeville,UT when I did. I just seem to be more attentive when I know the people that are teaching me. I have really been concentrating on the Old Testament. People, especially in this state know it inside, out backwards and forwards. I love knowing that Joseph Smith received revelation to further our understanding of these books. I love knowing that these books are more important today then ever. I love feeling the warning from a loving Heavenly Father. I miss my family, I want to be next to them to protect them and show them love. In turn I hope by this experience of being away has gave me a stronger desire to study and to learn, to remain humble. When we are able to be with our kids again, I can be confident enough to share my knowledge and testimony with them.
FOR THIS I AM THANKFUL.

"OH WHAT DO WE DO IN THE SUMMERTIME" 21 Things to Do before Summer Ends...

21 Things to Do before Summer Ends by LDS Living StaffIf you're like most people, you are planning to launch your summer with the best of intentions. But like that candy bar in the glove box, the sweet summer memories that were your priority can quickly melt in the slow, hot days of the season. Luckily, with a little planning and some great ideas, you can make this summer the best ever. Even if money is tight, there are still plenty of ways to have an exciting summer. In fact, the best summer memories are often made up of small, simple pleasures. When the heat's on, don't sweat the big stuff. Take time to sip lemonade, read a good book, and enjoy the beauty of nature. At LDS Living, we've looked, asked, and researched the top twenty-one things to do before summer ends. 1. Take a Hike Being outdoors is like owning a pet - there's just something healthy about it. It feels great to get back to nature, so while the weather is nice, why not explore some of the wonderful parks, trails, and reserves near your home? Bring a magnifying glass and pair of binoculars for a closer look at insects, birds, and other wildlife. 2. Read a Biography Books are an easy vacation you can fit under your arm. They are distractions our tired brains love, and there are few things as gripping as a good biography. Many people throughout history have lived lives of achievement and inspiration. So bring a blanket and find some shady trees - they were made for reading good books. 3. Make Real Lemonade Summer just doesn't seem like summer until you've had a nice cool glass of real lemonade. Try this recipe: Peel three fat lemons. Cut them into smaller pieces. Drop the pieces into a blender with 1-1/2 cups of sugar and 1-1/2 cups of water. Use the blender to chop until coarse, then strain into a pitcher. Add ice cubes. Adjust as needed. 4. Host a Neighborhood Block Party Summer is always a season of change, meaning at least one new family will move into the neighborhood. So why not host a potluck block party and give everyone a chance to get to know one another better? You can oftentimes obtain a special permit from your city that allows you to block off the street. 5. Go on a Field Trip Remember the time you were reading about the art museum that wasn't far from your home? Summer is the perfect time to explore all that your community has to offer. How about visiting an aquarium, aviary, or zoo? Or try your state capitol building. 6. Sleep Outside Most of us have fallen asleep outdoors a few times in our lives, or at least slept with the window open. Brigham Young once said that summers were meant for sleeping outdoors, and that the fresh air does the mind good. So take a trip back to your school days and enjoy sleeping under the stars. 7. Go to a "Dive-in" Movie Sometimes you need to take a break from the sticky summer night heat. One great way to spend a summer evening is cooling off while watching a good movie. Many water parks show movies on giant screens while people relax in the pool. Can't find any in your area? Opt for a matinee. A nice cold soda and a dark, cool theater can provide a much-needed break from the hot summer sun. 8. Take a Dip Studies show that 86 percent of all the swimming you'll do in your life is completed before you're twenty years old. And most of that was done in the summer. Make this the summer of swim. Visit the community pool, or better yet, take a trip to the ocean or a nearby lake. You can do some beachcombing or fishing while you're there! 9. Have a Yard Sale Yard sales are a great way to get organized and cleaned up before the school year starts. Get your kids involved and let them earn some money. They may not want to give away some of their toys, but they might be interested in selling them. Have a yard sale - and don't forget to sell some of that good lemonade. 10. Eat Homemade Ice Cream at Sunset Making ice cream is one of the crowning events of any summer - eating it while watching a beautiful sunset makes it even more special. This event needs to be planned and executed as though your summer depends on it. Go all out - get berries, cones, and whipped cream to dress up simpler flavors, which are easier to make and tend to turn out better than complicated flavors. Make it a fun time you'll always remember. 11. Attend a Concert in the Park Many cities host a series of free concerts during the summer months, often with a wide variety of music from Celtic to bluegrass to classical. So grab a blanket or a lawn chair, pack a picnic, and sit back and enjoy! 12. Go Horseback Riding Most people don't have the chance to ride horses very often, so saddle up and go on a mini adventure. Even if you're not an experienced rider, there are many businesses that can accommodate beginners. This will be great for kids, too, who tend to enjoy close contact with animals. 13. Visit an Amusement Park If horseback riding isn't your style, you can always opt for a horse on carousel. Most amusement parks have something for everyone to enjoy. Even if you'd rather not take a spin on the roller coaster, there is sure to be dancing, singing, or some kind of entertainment for you to enjoy. 14. Attend a Festival During the summer months, festivals are everywhere. So grab the kids and spend the day learning about the food, crafts, history, music, and dance of another culture. From Greek to Scottish to Polynesian, you're sure to find a great cultural event to attend. Check your local paper for dates and details. 15. Shop at a Farmers' Market Local farmers' markets are overflowing with fresh, delicious fruits and vegetables. In summer, you're sure to find perfectly ripened tomatoes, sugar-sweet corn, and delicious watermelon. Go to localharvest.org or farmersmarket.com to find a farmers' market near you. 16. Pick Fresh Fruit You can also enjoy the bounty of summer by going to the farm yourself to gather juicy strawberries or plump blueberries right from the field. Later in the season, try picking peaches or apples from a local orchard. Check pickyourown.org to see if there is a kid-friendly farm in your area. 17. Clean Up a Park With the kids out of school, it is often hard to keep them busy with productive, meaningful projects. So grab some gloves, some garbage bags, and a rake and head to your neighborhood park. After you finish cleaning up, let the kids spend some time at the park to enjoy the fruits of their labor. 18. Build a Fort Kids love to have a special place of their own. Let them drape sheets and blankets over some tables, chairs, and piles of couch cushions for a few days, or round up some scrap lumber and cardboard boxes for the perfect outdoor escape. 19. Attend a State or County Fair A great event for the whole family, local fairs usually have carnival rides, games, food, entertainment, competitions, crafts, and displays. It's the perfect way to celebrate your local culture. 20. Go Stargazing Warm summer nights are perfect for stargazing. You can make it as simple as admiring the stars in the night sky, or, with a little planning, you can catch meteor showers, locate constellations, and even find out when other planets will be visible. Find a secluded area near your house that has less light pollution so you can enjoy the full glory of the night sky. Go to stardate.org for lots of tips and a weekly calendar of celestial events. 21. Complete a Triathlon This is from LDSliving.com Another Website I enjoy

WALKIN' WEDNESDAY'S

Yep, I'm back to walking! I have 2 weeks left to prepare for my first 5K. It's a start! Gotta keep MOVIN'. Two years at the Y and I've gained 13lbs. Just goes to show you every 'ounce' of workout I EAT IN 'POUNDS' and SOOOoooooo I have to push it harder--and stop eating. So here it goes! I'm hoping I can just withstand the heat and humidity? I feel blessed to just be able to have the time and the means to keep going to the YMCA. Love the people that are there. Especially the old timers that can out do me. Last week I saw an 80 something frail little lady on the elipital just working it. HOPE I CAN BE LIKE ALL THOSE OLDIES that are consistent in MOVIN' IT! THEY INSPIRE ME! And TERRENCE AND LAURA AND THE GIRLS WILL BE HERE! CAN'T WAIT TO TAKE THEM TO THE ZOO!!!

THANKFUL THURSDAY- FRIENDS

I'm sitting in my usual chair at the computer. Thankful to keep in touch with some special friends. I know I am fortunate to have awesome friends when after 30 years they still hold such a place in my heart. Reconnecting with phone calls and messages on facebook have made my life full cirle. For this I recognize the joy and true friendship I'm fortunate to enjoy. And today I went to lunch with a new friend, we were sitting out on the patio of Jacobs Well. A sandwhich shoppe. There was a perfect breeze on a perfect day and it was refreshing. The wild roses blooing and the robins occasionally flying by. Can't help but be grateful that today I recognize the beauty in life and friendship. Thankful that every where I go there are special people placed in my path that make life joyful. THANKYOU MY FRIENDS!

Me and Brother BEAR's ADVENTURES

Brother Bear came to play, While Mama Bear was on a field trip with the other cuddly bears!!! I like how Mama Bear descibes her conversations with Brother Bear so this is OURS!! Brother Bear to Clark: "HEY 'BIG GUY' DON'T GO BACK TO Woak" then he proceeds to give a BIG BEAR HUG and KISSES ON BOTH CHEEKS! Brother Bear to Sister Albaugh: "YO GOING TO LIVE HERE FOREVER" then he squeezes his little hands up to his face and sqweels with excitement. Brother Bear to Elder Albaugh: "you have pictures of bears" I have pictures of "GRIZZLIES" at my house" Then we spent a little time outside where Bro. Bear drove the riding lawn mower and we planted a pumpkin plant and found a worm. Bro. Bear named it "HEIDI" and then it broke and became 2 worms. Then Heidi had a SISTER!! Brother Bear is full of fun. The things he say's keeps us laughing. We just enjoy a little life to our party! Come see us again Brother Bear!

A "STRAIGHT LINE" STORM???? --AKA- INLAND HURRICANE!

Leaves stuck to the house!
Our neighbors fence
Ford Dealership Sign (this is also behind our house.)
A car in our town that was smashed by a tree.
My favorite part of the day! The neighbors gathering to see if anyone can use help!
Our Table knocked over (thats minor)
An oil tank in the trees just two house's behind us.
A tree uprooted just 4 houses up from us
Our neighbors flag pole.
This is BEFORE, I'm sad that I didn't get the TOWANDA TOWER in this pic. it was in front of the biggest barn.
This is AFTER
Ever heard of it. Not me, Until this Friday when SIRENS blew throughout the town. We didn't hear the sirens either to the force of the winds carrying the sound??? I thought I slept through anything but at 5:00 am I awoke, Clark and I were throwing on our clothes and shoes to evacuate to the basement when Sister Albaugh knocked on our door and said, " I think we need to head to the basement"
We heard what we could have distinguished as a train sound, knocking debrey against the house. Water seeping in through the front door, and for the next 30 minutes we wondered what the out come would be.
WOW, they called this a "straight line storm" also known as an "Inland Hurricane"with wind gust from 80mph to 115mph. The devastation met others fiercely. One story came in from Rosalia, just out of our city limits. A young family, a mom and dad a two year old a a baby inside the trailer rolled three times. Leaving the mother with broken ribs, the father with a gash to the head and two little ones unharmed. Everything in the trailer broken except the babies crib, it went without a scratch. ANGELS carried those little ones.
In another town next to us "TOWANDA" looked like a war zone. Metal wrapped around trees. Roofs gone from houses. An awning at a gas station collapsed and several horse trailers laying on their sides or blown across the highway and wrapped around poles. Main Street had windows blown out and the street was covered in glass. Sadly a famous landmark was destroyed. I didn't have a picture of the "TOWANDA TOWER" but in the barn scene was a tower with the letters T-O-W-A-N-D-A down it. The W was crooked in memorial of the man who was painting it. He fell to his death at the W. It is now rubble. The pictures I have only say that we were blessed in our neighborhood to escape some shingles off the roof and a few fences down. In comparison to the rest of the town. My friend coming in from Emporia was surprised when driving into town and went around to each member of our Church's homes to find no damage. We were fortunate to have our generator going. The second time since January. In the 13 hours of no power we didn't go without any conveniences.
What a STORM!
