Thankful Thursday: Blue Ribbon's
After reading here. I decided to dedicate the BLUE RIBBON to my Mr. Clark. After working so hard, eating the dreaded no potassium diet of plain rice and pasta. Staying away from the food that he loves. And fighting hard everyday for the strength to work hard. The results came in. He didn't get the BLUE RIBBON today. But when we came home from the Doctor, while he was quietly sleeping in his chair I kissed his forehead and thought how he deserves so many BLUE RIBBONS. He never ceases to amaze me. He has the highest endurance of anyone I've ever seen. So this passed few weeks when he just hasn't had any energy and his body just couldn't battle the cold virus. That's when we knew once again something more was up. He is about over his cough. His eye treatments went well. Yet again anemia sets in, and his kidney's take a turn for the worse. Today he couldn't bare to tell anyone, not our family, no especially not his Dad. He couldn't bare to let him know he didn't get the BLUE RIBBON at the Dr. today. We'll begin a new chapter next week. The dreaded word became real. "Dialysis" ( yes, at home and he'll still be able to work. ) In quietness we both could barely speak. Then after hours he said. "Lets just not make this a big deal." Yes, he deserves a zillion BLUE RIBBONS for courage and optimism! After talking with the kids, and Grumps we've come up with this conclusion. YES, He can only feel better. So tonight we will move forward. Praying with all our might a kidney becomes available so that his quality of life can get better. Mr. Clark already has so many BLUE RIBBONS, when its all said and done he will get this blue ribbon back! He will always be our winner, he's had his own Gethsemane. To be a part of this man's life and to be apart of all his BLUE RIBBONS, I AM THANKFUL.

Tears and tears. Why can't life just be nice to us? I certainly hope that Clark does well on dialysis. It is true, he will feel like he should with a good kidney. It ties you down a bit, but your body will feel so much better. You two always look for the positive in everything and I am glad for that. Hug each other for me and my best wishes to you both. Please keep me up to date on how he is doing. It speaks alot of our friendship that we can go 30 years with only 1-2 quick visits and still feel so close. Our prayers are with you.
