MORE THANKFUL THAN EVER!
It's been a busy, busy week. I have missed my Thankful Tuesday and my Thankful Thursday and tonight I have a minute so it's a wrap up of the week!
1 week ago I was talking to a church member. In our conversation I mentioned that I needed a place to stay for two weeks while Clark was at all night dialysis because it was quite a distance. She got on the band wagon and called people she knew. GUESS WHAT! She found a place for me to stay. A nice family took me in their home for this past week. You wouldn't believe how close it is to the dialysis center. It's been a humbling thing to barge in on someone. But what a blessing it's been. We recognize it as a small miracle. Then on Monday this sweet, sweet lady brought us dinner. It was HEAVEN. I had forgotten what an uplift it can be with such a gesture. Because we hadn't gotten any sleep the night before we ate the heartwarming meal and crashed by 6:00pm. Her thoughtfulness helped our week go better. SO THANKFUL!
All week we've been mowing over our decision on what's next in dialysis for Mr. Clark. It's difficult not to be home in our own routine.Should we train at home to do this? Should we be on the road with medical professionals to handle his care? A big decision for us.
Right now this decision to do temporary nocturnal dialysis has been a blessing and we can see God's hand in helping Mr. Clark to *feel better. We wouldn't have known the difference he could feel if we remained on P.D. Our team at Fresinius and the Doctors are looking out for his best care. So we have so many reasons to feel THANKFUL!
We have wonderful people around us. His co-workers have even offered to give me a hand in taking him to the center. Wow, just the offer was special.
Mr. Clark also received a pair of glasses this week... DO YOU KNOW WHAT THIS MEANS? for almost 2 years he couldn't get a prescription that would help him. For a few months he hasn't had a drivers licence. YES, his eyes are healed again which also mean he was able to renew his licence. He said it's better than being 16 again. He keeps saying over and over--- It feels so good to be alone! Hee-hee, I know that he appreciates everyone that has been his designated driver but guess what??? He doesn't feel like a burden anymore.. We shall call him Mr. Independent for a day or two! He drove to get a hair cut on Saturday and came home exhilarated!
He has felt better than he has for a year now although he is really struggling with restless leg. Still no sleep etc.
Another blessing: NO FIONIA THE FILTER! The first couple of nights was hilarious. Because on Fionia he was connected to a tube that could only reach to the bathroom and if he really stretched it he could reach his arm around to the ice maker and get a cup of ice chips. Well the first few nights he thought he was really stretching himself until he realized he wasn't connected at all. He is a free man. LOL
The hard thing about this week is we have both been EXHAUSTED. We have returned home at 5:30 in the morning to hurry and get ready for work and get on the road again.
So the blessing has been an appreciation for HOME. IT HAS NEVER FELT BETTER!
Today: We spent the morning in church. Elder Bower from the Quorum of the 70 spoke to the congregation. POWERFUL. His message was: you should study the scriptures with ??? QUESTIONS and come to each church meeting with ???QUESTIONS???? And if you are prayerful you will receive the answers through the spirit. We learned so much more of course. We both came away really spiritually uplifted. Words can't describe the feeling we both felt. WOW! So Thankful for our knowledge and testimony of the gospel in our lives. God is an active part in all of our lives. He has sent Apostles and Prophets to give us direction today. This knowledge gives us light and hope when some days seem dark.
A couple big hurdles coming up in the next few weeks. We have enjoyed these past few days when the good has been a quality GOOD.
FOR THIS WE ARE THANKFUL
