The Fun at our House!

So this is the fun at our house! Guitar Hero...The kids showed me up! I've gotta get some more practive in! Having fun just hangin' out. The Missionaries (that live with us) Daughter and Family from Utah (Chad and Kitty Holdaway)came for breakfast and Sunday dinner. We ventured to Wichita to "OLD TOWN" on Saturday.A little disappointing. As you can tell pushing Clark in the wheelchair was a little much for Tyrel! It exhausted Clark and he grounded himself to the house for the next two days!

Thankful Thursday!

Clarks's playing solitare while getting his IV, Yes he's definetly on the mend! So It is the end of the day and I'm extremely THANKFUL FOR: Answered Prayers-- Clark is on the mend! We have seen the doctor and things are looking UP! YAY Clark can now put some weight on his heal. This means we've now graduated from hopping. No more walker. I'm thankful for a friend who invited me to the Butler C.C 1st football game. It was so good to get out for a bit and forget my nursing responsibilities for a moment. And MOST OF ALL THANKFUL Tyrel and Danielle arrived safe. Just so you all know...United Airlines stinks! This is the 3rd time in a row they have screwed up on our flights. But hey at least Tyrel and Danielle arrived last night instead of being delayed to this afternoon. It will be a great weekend! Stay Safe everyone! By for now! Terrence and Laura, Kylie, Maddie, Elyse...You will be missed!

A little thought: My personal motto for now!

Over the entrance to the famed French College of Surgeons is an inscription which declares, " I dressed the wounds, but God healed them."

Clarks Sick Toe...

Nine Days in the hospital with a Sick Toe, 5 more weeks of IV's, 6 more weeks after that of oral antibiotics. Diabetes takes it's toll... We are trying to keep smilin' so here's our humor in it all! Clark has a rubber chicken!! He occassionally threw it at a Nurse if she hurt him! And I gave the nurses permission to throw the chicken at him! He was smacking Nurse Nancy with it when she hurt him pulling off the tape on his Pic Line! Nurse Brenda was the Wound Nurse and she was Our favorite(our HERO!). We've had a lot of laughs with the 'RUBBER CHICKEN"!!!! When life gets you down---Get a rubber chicken! WE ARE HOME AND COMFORTABLE! I'm surviving giving the IV's and changing the bandaging. Clark said this morning "did you ever think you'd be giving IV's" I said NO... but it's kind of nice to know you can almost do anything if you have to." Clark is doing well and we are on the mend so I am going to conclude the daily updates. Thanks to everyone for you concern and prayers. We always are grateful what could have happened didn't. We are blessed. Just in... I recieved the best compliment of my life!! Clark told me I'm his cutest nurse!!!! Of Course... as he is my favorite patient! He also patted me on the back when I successfully passed off the "wound care" test and now I'm on my own. Never thought nursing would be my forte' j/k Hats off to all nurse's. Thank goodness it's temporary for me! Lots of work! I'll do it for LOVE!

The Little Thing's Mean the Most!

LOVE THIS PICTURE! PAPA CLARK AND KYLIE WASHING THE TRUCK! Aren't they both so cute! So yesterday I mowed the lawn. You all know I love to mow the lawn but...yesterday I did it without my partner. We have been such a team lately. We have this little routine going. He runs the mower around the edges and places the riding lawn mower can't get (like the fire hydrant in our yard) and also runs the edger. While I sit.. and mow the rest. We trade off every week. I miss him being out in the yard with me! Once again he has been layed up with his toe and we have missed our 'fun' together. I'm grateful for days passed when we have been a team. After nearly 28 years I appreciated "The Little Things" Like helping me unload the dishwasher, both of us rushing out the garbage on garbage day etc. There were day's passed spent sitting with him while he fixed our cars. Handing him tools etc. Hanging out in the shop fixing "Big Trucks" for the family business. All of the times I sat beside him on the tractor while on the farm. Cutting Hay, Planting Grain. I'm grateful I was included on the and hunting trips. Now I get to be his fishing partner. Little things mean the most. TOGETHER we can get through anything. I love my partner and best friend. I'm beside him as he's beside me. Life is good even when it's bad because we have each other. "GET WELL SOON MY MAN!"

Someone made a difference to me!

Heather has inspired me with her 365 days of Grattitude. Her entries remind me to look for the good in every day.
Yes, I'm having another gratitude day! It seems to remind me that life is good and I am blessed! We had a little get together on Friday night. We call it "whatever night" some of our church friends come over and work on projects, scrapbooking, blogging... just whatever. Often we visit and it is just refreshing to laugh and cry and recognize that there are angels among us. This paticular night we visited with a lady that has become such an inspiration to me. Her challenges are above and beyond what I could bear yet she so rely's on her enduring faith. I can't get her out of my mind. I hope I can always be reminded of her example and courage through out my life. I can't go into much detail because much of it is private. Only to say she is waiting the treatment of a son with a brain tumor and has lost one son just five years ago while he was serving a mission. She is so close to Christ. And she 'Daily' looks for someone to serve. She is amazing. I'm blessed to know her. She has made a difference in my life.

TWO Reason we are BLESSED !

You can see who had the most fun! Elyse is the best Auntee!

Lagoon Fun! June 2008

Elyse on the Horse. First time for Maddie to ride the Merri-Go-Round, Kylie really enjoyed all of the rides, especially the "tidal wave" she raised her arms and screamed with the rest of us.

Just missing home! Its amazing that no matter where you go your heart always returns to where your roots are planted. We enjoy everywhere we go but "Home is where the --KIDS are."

Congratulations ERIC!

Jay's son ERIC is entering the mission home today... So hard to say goodbye. It's surprising how hard it will be. Hardest day of their families life! Congratulations Eric! Eric is going to be a missionary serving in the New York, New York, North Mission (for 2 years)-- Same mission as Tyrel. Pretty Exciting. Just to let you know Eric, you are important to us. We are so happy for you and we know you will make a great missionary!
